I loved the show as well, it was one of my favourites for sure.

The spoofs on Saturday Night Live are pretty funny, called MacGruber. Not sure if you have seen them, but they are pretty funny.

You probably know this as well, but Henry Winkler a.k.a. Arthur Fonzerelli was the Executive Producer, or something like that of the show.

Loved the MacGyver Factor explanation. Gotta love Richard Dean Anderson!

Also, I totally agree in regards to the second characteristic that you said successful real estate investors had.

Some people I know call this the Law of Abundance. (Where people believe that there is plenty to go around for everyone)
